Member Benefits Members will receive a discount on registration to the annual HVSA annual educational conference. Next year's event -- Valves in the Heart of the Big Apple: Evaluation & Management of Valvular Heart Disease -- will take place in New York City, April 12-14, 2007. Our inaugural conference was held in New York City in 2005, our second event in Las Vegas in 2006. These CME programs have drawn hundreds of physicians and healthcare professionals from around the US and the world. Members receive a membership directory, as well as online valve disease articles from Cardiology, the international journal of cardiovascular medicine, surgery and pathology. The Society has also distributed a preliminary list of valve and related devices trials. In addition, members can join one of the Society's Councils -- Cardiac Imaging, Clinical Trials & Registries and Therapeutic Interventions. Allied health professionals can join the Society's Allied Health Associates. Future activities will include an expanded Web site, quarterly online newsletter, regularly scheduled invitation-only retreats, and development of research opportunities. Membership Eligibility Membership is open to cardiologists and cardiothoracic surgeons, researchers, related professionals, and students involved in the field, as well as individuals who work for corporations, academic and service institutions, and foundations interested in valvular heart disease. HVSA is also open to a wide-range of professionals involved in the field:
